John Hamm and Paul Rudd Read From My Dead Dad Was in ZZ Top

Excited to report that shaky video has emerged from last night's stuffed-to-the-doors release party for Jon Glaser's book, My Dead Dad Was in ZZ Top.  The book's premise: a collection of secret documents pertaining to the world's most renowned musical artists. Looking at the event's guest reader list, you'd think this is the sort of party that might've taken place under the HOLLYWOOD sign and not Park Slope's abandoned car district.  Highlights from the show included Jon Hamm reading about the real origin of The Butthole Surfers (below!), Paul Rudd reading Tonight Show Band rejection letters as Jay Leno (below, must watch!), and John Hodgman sporting a moustache circa Stanley Tucci in The Lovely Bones (not pictured!).

News of the World

--Earlier this week, Jon Glaser showed us how to feel comfortable in a ski mask during the summer. Tonight he'll be showing us how to feel comfortable inside another person's body -- he's hosting a preview screening at The UCBT of The Virginity Hit, a film produced by Funny or Die that comes out September 10th.

--The bell tolled for Sara Schaefer's weekly Bell House comedy show Get Off Your Knees. The venue reportedly no longer wanted to host stuff in the front of the space and last night was the final installment (pending relocation).

--The Awl is prepping to launch a comedy site soon called Splitsider; it's helmed by Adam Frucci, a former writer for Gizmodo and current UCB house team member.

--Does anyone remember The Norm Show? The preservationists at Shout Factory did and they're bringing the complete 3-season series to DVD next week.

--Snakes, the rap duo comprised of Billy Scafuri and Adam Lustick, are releasing their second CD next week and its called The Network Takeover. Here are some tracks.

Snakes - Where in the World is Snakes

--AND FINALLY:  In a matter that's as concerning as when 4-year old Shiloh Jolie Pitt turned to her parents and said, "I want to live and dress like a big burly man!" it's looking like Matt McCarthy's puppy is also refusing to follow the path laid out for it--the darn dog is camera shy!

Delocated Returns with New Characters, Same Ski Masks

By: Nat Towsen

America's favorite anonymous reality-TV star returns to the digital airwaves this weekend as Delocated begins its second season on Adult Swim. The stakes are raised this time around--Sergei Mirminsky (Steve Cirbus) to take over the job of killing Jon (Jon Glaser), leaving his brother Yvgeny (Eugene Mirman) to pursue his vodka-centric standup career. Meanwhile, Jon struggles to maintain his relationship with his girlfriend (Zoe Lister-Jones), aided only by the emotional terror of his situation.

The season premiere, airing this Sunday on Adult Swim at 10PM EST/PST, sees the always-hilarious Jerry Minor join the cast as network executive Mighty Joe Jon, The Black Blond. With characters dropping like flies that stepped afoul of the mafia, one hopes that Minor makes it through the season. The episode also features plenty of Jon Glaser's beautiful shamelessness and a stellar cameo by Todd Barry as "himself."

Episode two prominently features Jon Glaser's dick. It is, of course, censored. Not out of shame, but out of a desire to preserve the reality-TV aesthetic. These guys are pros.
