Local Acts Announced for 2010 Just for Laughs Chicago Festival

New and local act rosters for the 2010 Just for Laughs Chicago Festival, June 15-19, have just been released. Chicago-centric performances highlighted below, along with several best bets on national acts in town for the festival. Tickets available at 10AM May 22.

Chicago Performers:

--Chicago Underground Comedy presents: Secret Big-Time Local Comedy Showcase – Tuesday, June 15, at 8 p.m., the Beat Kitchen

Chicago expat Mike Bridenstine hosts performances by up-and-coming local killers Adam Burke, Beth Stelling, Brendan McGowan, Cameron Esposito, Dan Telfer, Junior Stopka, Hey You Millionaires, Sean Flannery and more. 

--Schadenfreude Rent Party: The City that Works – Thursday, June 17, at 8 p.m., Martyrs’

Local sketch legend Schadenfreude teams up The Jordan Years, Brian Babylon, Joe Bill, and special guests Rhymefest and Eddie & Jobo for their new show satirizing “The City that Works.”

--Lights, Camera, Action, CUT: Comedic Short Films – Thursday, June 17, at 9 p.m., the Lincoln Lodge

--Messing with a Friend – Thursday, June 17, at 10:30 p.m., iO Theater

--Sketch-travaganza: The Best of Sketchfest – Friday, June 18, 6 p.m.-1 a.m. at Studio BE

In partnership with the Chicago Sketchfest, this afternoon and evening of sketch will feature some of the best groups in Chicago, and will culminate with the loony and hilarious Sketchubator at midnight. The roster of performers includes My Mans, Family Tree House Boat Accident, Blaxploitation, Stir Friday Night!, Urban Indigenous, Bri-Ko, Germans, OneTwoThree Comedy, pH Productions, Kerpatty!, Long Pork, Sad On Vacation, Dominizuelan, Mountain Dawn, Jablonski!, KevINda, Jet and Holly and more.

--The Improvised Shakespeare Co. – Friday, June 18, at 8 and 10:30 p.m., iO Theater

--Cook County Social Club – Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, at 8 p.m., Playground Theater

Local favorites Cook County Social Club make their debut appearance at Just for Laughs.

--The Andy Kaufman Funhouse: Featuring Andy Kaufman Award Winners and Finalists – Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, at 8 p.m., the Lincoln Lodge

Past Andy Kaufman award winners and finalists from the East Coast unite with Chicago Kaufman alums in this raucous showcase.  Hosted by Sasha & The Noob, the lineup includes comedians Blaine Kneece, Chad Briggs, Chris Condren, Harrisson Greenbaum, Jet Eveleth, Michael Lehrer, Mike Amato, Ken Barnard and more.

--Best of the Fest – Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, at 11 p.m. at Mayne Stage

The best comedians of the Festival perform with celebrity walk-ons a-plenty.

--Da Bears Movie Dat Wasn’t – Saturday, June 19, at 7 and 10 p.m. at Park West

The never-produced Super Fans movie will come to life as performers from the legendary SNL sketch and Mike Ditka reunite for a live reading of the 1995 script written by Bob Odenkirk and Robert Smigel.  Odenkirk and Smigel will be joined by original Super Fans George Wendt, Joe Mantegna and Richard Roeper, along with several surprise guests.
