ASK FOR IT BY NAME - PTOLEMY SLOCUM FOR M&Ms

Ah, good ol' Ptolemy Slocum (Neutrino Video Projects, The Faculty, The Wire). Roger Ebert once said that Ptolemy's "own name is a work of art." But if you were to ask Ptolemy about it, he'd probably direct you to another work of art: "Wigs on a Baby." The anthropomorphic M&M ads have been pretty good over the years, but I think Ptolemy's dodging CGI fruit (you can't throw real fruit at a SAG actor, right?) is the best thing about this ad. ASK FOR IT BY NAME - SUE GALLOWAY, PTOLEMY SLOCUM FOR SPRINT

Wow, look at these two. Acting all smart with their smart phones. Being all bitch-assy to the those of us who don't have one. Ha ha, I'm just playing. I got one of them shits, too.

Ask For It By Name: Ptolemy Slocum for Best Buy

It's a little ironic that Ptolemy Slocum was picked for this Best Buy national. After all, he's a senior agent of Improv Everywhere, the New York-based prank crew that once sent a Best Buy into a confused tailspin (Slocum has participated in numerous IE missions, most notably for playing Bono in "Even Better Than the Real Thing"). But years later we find Slocum getting advice on flat panel TVs from a stadium filled with blue-shirted corporate drones. The circle, I guess, is complete.

ASK FOR IT BY NAME: ROB DELANEY FOR PROGRESSIVE AUTO INSURANCE

Is it me, or does Rob Delaney look a little bit like the love child of Ed Helms and Jason Bateman in this spot? Eh, I'm just jealous the New York comic got to spend the day flirting with "Flo" (Stephanie Courtney), Progressive's answer to Geico's uppity gecko and Aflac's obnoxious duck. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a sucker for a woman wearing a hairband.

Were YOU or someone funny you know in a spot recently? Send the link!
