The Premiere of 'A Serious Man' @ The Ziegfeld Theater - 9.24.9

--The weekend-long Friars Club Film Festival commenced with the red carpet premiere of Joel and Ethan Coen's new film, A Serious Man, a dark comedy set in the 60's about the slow-building existential onslaught gripping an obsequious Jewish professor and his family. Friar Dean Freddie Roman introduced the CoBros before the film started and they took a few minutes to thank everyone.
--PREDICTION: A Best Supporting Actor nom for Frank Melamed for his role as Sy Alberman, a sensitive cuckold caregiver.
--Was it just us, or did it seem like you needed a Hebrew degree to get all the jokes in this film?? We laughed a lot despite our B.A. A Serious Man opens in limited release on October 2nd.
--SPOTTED: Bored to Death creator Jonathan Ames, Robert Ben Garant, Charlie Todd, and soap starlet/Friar Susan Lucci.
