Universal Improv Crush Ellie Kemper to Appear in The Office - EW

Entertainment Weekly columnist Michael Ausiello cited sources last week that New York comedian Ellie Kemper has been cast as the new receptionist on NBC's The Office. Kemper, a longstanding fixture in the New York improv and sketch-comedy scene (Big Black Car, Mailer Daemon, Kempsas, Scott & Ellie, to name a very few), has been perched on the ledge of superstardom for quite some time. As one of the hardest working comedians around, Kemper has appeared in numerous comedy-video shorts and is a regular contributor for The Onion and McSweeney's. But like so many New York comedy seniors these days, Kemper -- the object of countless improv crushes -- now resides in Los Angeles. So your opportunity to catch her improvise at any of the usual black-box spots has dwindled greatly.
