The Facetime | Timmy Williams & Adam NewmanBy: Becky Ciletti

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Comedy-wise, things are heating up in the outer boroughs. Well, sort of. Last night, Timmy Williams (The Whitest Kids U' Know), and John F. O'Donnell (Comedy Central's Fresh Faces of Comedy) debuted The Kingdom of Heaven, their new Long Island City open mic at The Creek and The Cave. Fellow Whitest Kids Trevor Moore and Sam Brown did stand-up, Brown for the first time ever, and Tom McCaffrey closed out the show. The L.I.C. barflies got into it too.

"Some dude suggested that I end a humorous story about my grandfather with my granddad blowing me," Williams said.

Next show is March 21st headlined by the entire Whitest Kids U' Know.

Other outer borough shows:
Tuesday Night Comedy With Matt Taylor gives Astoria comics like Jesse Joyce, Moody McCarthy, and Eric Kirchberger a local spot to work out material. Up next, Taylor¹s hoping to add a Sunday show.

In Bushwick, Gab Cody hosts Words in the Bush, a storytelling mic at the Life Cafe.

In Jersey City, Melissa Surach's show Blackhole Wednesday draws a crowd that feels more like you're at an indie rock show.

Don't forget Jen Dziura's Pete's Candy Store (Williamsbug), Dan Frigolette's Comma D (Park Slope), or his Coo Chee Coo w/ Yannis Pappas (also Park Slope). AND Edward Tyll has Monkey Room (Washington Heights).
