--The annual CMJ indie music festival begins this week. Gothamist concert profiler Jeff Baum shares his must-see schedule.
--Brooklyn Vegan's pre-CMJ showcase is TOMORROW. It features RISEN comic Aziz Ansari, Cloud Cult, and Doveman.
--Liam McEneaney has put together the mother of all hurricane relief shows. Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, Late Night monologue writer Brian Kiley and many more. What makes this the best is the stunning assortment of generously donated prizes he has collected for a charity raffle.
--The UCBT is hosting a viewing of Matt Walsh and Ian Roberts' rarely seen movie, Martin & Orloff on Wednesday, September 14th. It's FREE!
--Also on Wednesday, Tale of Two Cities' muse 1/2 Nelson, is putting on his first fashion show. Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this.
--The New York Musical Theatre Festival starts today and ends October 2nd. The UCBT and the Museum of Television and Radio are two venues of note hosting acts this year. The Pearl Brunswick, Gutenberg the Musical and Monica! The Musical will be out there singing and dancing. Show some love.
--FREE! passes to a screening of Thumbsucker on Thursday, September 15th.
