Kristen Schaal Kills Australia, Wins Top Prize at Melbourne Comedy Festival

We hope Kristen Schaal left a little room in her suitcase for a big fat trophy. We just learned that Kristen has won the highest honor Australia can bestow on a living comedian, the illustrious Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She shares the award with a British ventriloquist named Nina Conti.
The Age writes:
Schaal, fresh from dancing until 4am as she celebrated her win, said she had not expected such a warm reaction to her often-kooky show."I was actually surprised by how many people really did embrace it," she said. "It's absurdist and weird and if some people didn't get it, that's exactly what I wanted to do."

I've seen her perform in numerous nyc clubs and on "live at gotham" and the whitest kids. Haven't seen fotc yet. I really like her on the daily show. I get very excited when she's on.
