Look Who Stopped By: It's Casey Rose Wilson!

Whooooooo is it?
OMFG--it's Casey Rose Wilson! The newest cast member of Saturday Night Live! Holy moley. Come in, come in. Look at you! You must be so busy--your first show is tomorrow! We'll keep it brief.
Pretend to time travel to the moment you first visited 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Walk up to your younger self and say something wise. Or funny. Or mysteriously prophetic. I would say to my younger self: "It's okay that you love musical theatre so much. And even though the picture of you and Matthew McConaughey that was taken in 1999 when you were an extra on the show didn't make it to air -- you will be a cast member!!" Also, finally, "Lay off the mint Milanos."What's some good advice you've received from friends, family, fellow actors/improvisers about appearing on live national television?
There has been so much well wishing from everyone. Jason Sudeikis told me not to look into the camera and that they use microphones on television. So that was just...such a help. Wow.Do you have any pre-show superstitions?
Not yet!Was there a point in the recent past where you almost gave up comedy? Or have you been driving toward this goal from the beginning?
I've never wanted to "give up" per se but I was honestly feeling like, man, I don't know how much longer I can keep auditioning like this everyday -- it was getting frustrating.Now that you've hung out on the 17th floor like so many SNL veterans and legends before you, what have you eaten? And do people go all the way down to the ground floor to smoke?
I have not been eating. I have been smoking some cigs, but no one here really smokes so I feel like a bad person a lot. I'm pushing them on people and wishing they smoked so we could have a human connection. It's kind of sad.We're assuming you must have prohibited yourself from getting too excited early in the casting process. When did you finally let yourself enjoy it?
Oh, man, when I found out I was in such a daze. I cried! I am still waiting for the point when I allow myself to experience joy. No, I've been thrilled. My dad is so thrilled and let me tell you, the bits and sketch ideas have not stopped coming. He was emailing and calling with them and when he hit a wall he started TEXTING me them -- just quickie premises and then the words: "You guys will figure out the rest..." It is so cute and makes me laugh.Okay, shout-out to all those who helped you get to Studio 8H.

Definitely Matt Besser, Owen Burke, Anthony King, Seth Morris and Drew DiFonzo Marks at the UCB and the entire UCB community east and west coast for being so supportive and amazing. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting at NYU, my dad and brother Fletcher and all my lady friends!!!
