Mo Pitkin's to Close in October
After weeks of suspicion cast by the weight of a Page Six blurb, it's been announced that Mo Pitkin's will be closing after all:
Dear Friends,It is with much sadness and regret that Im sending this message. Mo Pitkins House of Satisfaction will be closing next month, on October 20th. Please find the below letter from Phil and Jesse Hartman, the co-owners of Mo's, who explain the unfortunate circumstances for the closing.
It has been a true pleasure working with you all and I cant thank you enough for helping to make Mo's such a special place over the past two years. Thank you for your enthusiasm and support, and feel free to be in touch anytime.
And we're open for the next three weeks, so please do come by to say your goodbyes!
Very best,
Brice
Dear Mo's Performers,We're sorry to say, but Mo Pitkin's will be closing on October 20th, 2007, with a closing night party/performance on October 21st at 8pm. Building our bi-level performance space was an enormous undertaking, done with a lot of love, but it created a debt load that the club just could not sustain. Our deepest apologies to all those with gigs subsequent to that; with the recent press articles about our "imminent" closing, it's just become impossible for us to continue to stay open.
Many of you have been with us a long time, and appeared often on our stages; some were coming for the first time; to all of you, we send huge gratitude for making Mo's such a special place in such a short time. We're really proud of the great talent we've launched and the amazing performers we've nurtured, and wish everyone the best moving forward.
We hope the building's new owners (whoever they will be) will continue to provide a venue for local talent, and that all the love and care we put into building Mo Pitkin's will live on long into the future.
With Respect and Gratitude,
Phil & Jesse Hartman, Co-Proprietors
