The Gag Reel
By: Mo Diggs
Superbad has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, warming even David Denby's cockles.
Which leads me to ponder--can Judd Apatow do no wrong? This is a movie about randy teenagers and he didn't fuck it up. There's only one kind of film that can derail his career now; he'd have to go out Producers-style with Horny Hitler Youth or something. Even that won't work. Somehow Apatow will avoid the obvious fascist jokes, letting the comedy come from the reality of the characters' world. There will be no villains and everything will end with a satisfying conclusion that never feels too tidy or lazy. Dammit Apatow, you win again!
Anyways...
Jessica Alba and Mike Myers mix love fluids in the upcoming Guru Pitka film. (via Dead Frog)
And nowww, for the Trailer Of The Century. See if you can spot the NYC female comedy celebrity; if you're the first one to say who it is in the comments, you get to write a 50-word review (which will be published in next week's Gag Reel) of your favorite funny film that you proudly stand by like Old Glory in a Jeep Wrangler ad despite the objections of peers.
* Gondry is also an infallible filmaker
Rob Corddry goes all-in with What Happens in Vegas...
This article is interesting not so much because it examines how Kelsey Grammer's upcoming Fox sitcom may revitalize the multi-camera sitcom, but because it notes that the single-camera laffer was de rigeur in the '60s (Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie)
I hope Comedy Central's "pro-social initiative", Address The Mess, doesn't give Carlos Mencia an excuse to recycle more jokes...
UP LATE:
Jonah Hill on Leno and Craig Ferguson tonight
Judd Apatow on Leno Thursday
DVD Pick: Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters for DVD. At least watch the first ten minutes or the parts with Fred Armisen as Time Lincoln. Better yet wait till the credits, the Hold Steady plays apropos of nothing.

Good for Heather! And Paul Dinello!
As for "Gondry is also an infallible filmaker", you must have missed "The Science of Sleep".

Yeah, those are Lawless' dulcet and always slightly hurt sounding tones at the very beginning of the clip.

Everybody, after going to a comedy show go to a record store and buy as many Hold Steady albums as possible. We are the best band!
