Daily Show/Colbert Report Bombshell: Executive Producer Ben Karlin Alleged to Resign
We're hearing a bombshell rumor that Ben Karlin, the Executive Producer of both The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report has announced his resignation from The Daily Show. It is unclear yet whether he will continue to remain on board The Colbert Report. Karlin is said to be the TDS's key tastemaker, an incisive, hands-on EP whose very influence and direction has brought the show to its dazzling prominence today. It is alleged that after 8 years, Karlin is simply burnt out.
Daily Show head writer David Javerbaum is expected to be promoted to the top spot.
What does this mean for the future of Stewart and Comedy Central's blue chip?
