826NYC to Non-Profit From Journal Named After Famed Hobo
"My name is Sonny Payne. I'm homeless. And hungry. If you don't have it, I understand, because I don't have it," begins a well known speech by a frail, elderly, homeless, hungry, sad-eyed, subway derelict, named Sonny Payne.
826NYC, the McSweeney's owned non-profit youth writing & tutoring lab, has announced the sale of a new literary journal created by young, wide-eyed, fatted, well-to-do, high school students. It's called Sonny Paine.
Matthew Goodman, the editor of the journal wrote on 826's blog:
Already Sonny Paine-mania threatens to sweep the city. I've sold copies in Physics, in Mock Trial, at Big Nick's while attempting to wolf down a Sumo Burger (1 lb.+) , on the F train (not to Sonny Paine, though I'd like to show him)...

I bet Sonny would be more interested in seeing that 1-pound Sumo Burger.

"Hobo"? "Derelict"? What about "Homeless man" or "Street person"? Check your class condescension, funny man.
