So Long, RKB's Comedy Recommendations
It seems like just last week people were mourning the loss of My Blog Is Poop and now, another tragedy has struck. Rachel Kramer Bussel's site, RKB's Comedy Recommendations, is taking its final steps, gently tip-toeing down the dimly lit path to blogdeath.
She writes, "This blog may be going bye-bye soon cause obviously my heart's not in it anymore. I'm just kinda focused on other things and feel like a supremo idiot when all I post are announcements that people send me."
With a plethora of published articles and interviews, Rachel was one of the first writers to champion the city's comedy people. The Apiary shall memorialize the blog's passing with this excerpt of a slightly edited eulogy as originally orated by House Speaker Dennis Hastert at a recent death pageant:
Twenty years ago,President ReaganRachel Kramer Bussel stood on the beaches of Normandy, to honor those who made a life, by what they gave. Recalling the men who scaled the cliffs and crossed the beaches in a merciless hail of bullets, heshe asked, who were these men—these ordinary men doing extraordinary things?
HisHer answer was simple and direct: "They were Americans."So I can think of no higher tribute or honor or title to confer upon
Ronald ReaganRachel Kramer Bussel than to simply say:HeShe was an American.Godspeed,
Mr. PresidentRachel Kramer Bussel. God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
