Mike Myers and the Gawker Stalker Trail
Mike Myers' publicist has reported that Mike and his wife of 12 years, Robin Ruzan, are filing for divorce.
Mike was last written about here this past July for his participation in an Inside the Actor's Studio style show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Mike was remarkably friendly, charismatic, and full of wisdom--the crowd of wide-eyed comedy people were eating out of his hand. It appeared even Myers was invigorated by the experience. In the weeks following, Myers dropped by the Magnet Theatre in August to perform improv for a shocked, surprised audience. All signs looked like he was re-rooting himself in the comedy world here--which many people were giddily hoping for because he is awesome.
However, instead of continuing to hear Myers' name in connection to local comedy stuff, talk dipped below the surface of the gossip contained herein and started popping up regularly in Gawker Stalker. So vivid were the erratic changes in the fork-tongued testimonials, that speculation suggests they're probably congruous to Myers' personal troubles. The following is a timeline of the quotes pulled from the Gawker Stalker research.
I was out with some friends last night and saw Mike Myers at the Blue Mill Tavern (formerly Grange Hall). He seemed normal and was just basically hanging out with friends. Some people asked him about his meal and I think he even offered them a bite.
Saw Mike Myers walking with head down, looking normal but self-conscious, on Bleecker and Bank Street.
Spotted a disheveled, bloated Mike Myers today (11/19) passing by the MoMa design store in Soho with a gay artiste-type friend. Couldn't decide if the companion was more Karl Lagerfeld or Andy Warhol but he definitely upped the hip factor of homeless-looking Austin Powers.
Last night outside Webster Hall at around 7:30, Mike Myers of SNL/Shrek fame stumbled past us, then proceeded to stumble up 11th street toward 4th Avenue, lingering on the block while looking terrible and talking on a cell phone. Perhaps he was practicing for his upcoming role as Keith Moon, but the man looked as bad as its possible to look, and after about 20 minutes of awkwardly bumping into walls and such, hopefully found his way somewhere safe.
Saw Mike Myers yesterday (12/20) at Tea and Sympathy in the West Village with 3 friends. He looked very grumpy the entire time. Couldn’t see what he was eating, but about halfway through the meal a very loud and obnoxious cell phone rang, getting everyone’s attention. He scrambled to get it, and apologized to everyone for the disturbance. Still looked grumpy, with a silly fur hat with ear flaps when he left.
Anyways, our thoughts are with Mike and we hope things turn out all right.

I've heard from mannnnnny people that he's a total, 100 percent egomaniac and not to mention asshole. Reliable sources too.

I live in Toronto and have had a few dealings with Mr Myers. Its too bad, but Andy is quite right. After Wayne's World, Mike was never the same. He became quite uptight, and very arrogant. That nice guy thing is an act. He is not well liked, him and Dana C. couldnt stand each other.

You guys are jerks. He can't be that bad.

He plays street hockey in the chinatown leage and has been nothing but cool to everyone he's played. Also, he goes to the after-game drinks.

I was a PA on a film he shot in San Francisco a million years ago and one day they were on location on Alcatraz. He didn't like the coffee there so he made me go buy Evian, fancy coffee beans, a coffee bean grinder, mugs and a coffee machine and put in on a boat out to Alcatraz! EVERYONE hated him and the film karmatically bombed. And he WAS NOT funny.

He's been nothing but very, very nice to me every time I've run into him. We talk and I've never seen him be rude to anyone. This doesn't mean he hasn't but maybe certain circumstance provoke things just as do with everyone from time to time. Give the guy a break.

I fucked him and he made me buy a fancy condom ("ribbed on the inside, spiked on the outside") and complained that my pussy wasn't the right temperature. I had to sit on the radiator for five minutes until his Highness deemed it satisfactory. So yeah, he's an asshole. I live in Toronto, too. Just kidding.

Say what you want about this guy, but his appearance on SNL doing a tap dance routine with his mother was one of the best things I ever saw on TV.

I guess money, fame and a career that exceeded
any sane expectations doesn't buy happiness.
Hmmmm....Wasn't it Val Kilmer who said the problem
with success in show biz is there are so many
disappointments? He'll live. He could be a floor
manager at KB Toys, you know?
Posted by: renegabe at December 28, 2005 8:58 PM
To the one who fucked him, what was he like, besides the whole control freak making you sit on a radiator and buy strange condoms?

Lindsay is funnnnnnnnnneeeeee! She shoots. She scores.

Mike Myers is allegedly a prick, but he's a comic genius. Who the cares if he looks you in they eyes when you serve him a shot of Jamison? What he's given to society as a comedian is way more then a verbal gratuity or letting you cut n line. Being nice is for soccer moms. Get the fuck over it and give they guy his space.

I wrote that comment. And it posted as Susie's. Nate, some crazy shit just went down.
Susie... sorry, I reposted as my own. I drink... but not that much.
And for the record, I am not a Felber impersonator but a sheer admirer. Besides... Susie would never post typos.
Oh. Fuck I am so Star Jones right now.

I met him once. It was press thing for the SNL 25th anniversary. Granted that is a publicity thing, and I had a camera and a mic in his face, but he was genuinely very nice, much more so than many other of the famous people there. Steve Martin on the other hand...
Posted by: jg at December 29, 2005 10:19 AM
As long as he's not a scientologist, I can enjoy his movies and tolerate his coffee shipping practices.
Posted by: claudia at December 29, 2005 12:11 PM
NOT Steve Martin!! ummm...does he require his dates to sit on a radiator too?
Posted by: Laurie at January 3, 2006 12:18 AM
Okay, I live in Toronto. REALLY. The man is expected to be 'on' 24/7 -- he didn't cure a terminal illness -- he's just an actor/comedian. Canadians are nice, but not robotic. Give the guy a break.

I tripped over this article (http://www.janechristmas.com/buddhism.html) about Mike Myers' brother Paul and his wife. Apparently, his brother had to sell off his CD collection and other valuables so that he could take some time to travel to India. According to the article, his brother & sister-in-law live in a small, sparsely furnished apartment and feel guilty when they lay out cash to buy a cup of Starbuck's coffee. While I realize that everyone should make their own way in life, Mike Myers is worth millions and millions of dollars. Couldn't he help his brothers out a bit? Maybe he's just really cheap, except when it comes to coffee. Maybe he could get one of those fancy coffee makes for his brother.

I've seen him in person once or twice in NYC.
He was reserved, but not rude in any way.
I hear that he's already got a new girlfriend or ahem, well... he's been spotted out on a date with a "much younger looking lady" in NYC recently anyways.
anyone got any more info on this?
Posted by: Jenspen at January 10, 2006 8:28 PM
I know the girl. Do you really want to?
Posted by: spy at January 11, 2006 5:53 PM
Why would we NOT want to know her spy?
At least the basics- her age, her occupation, her score on the Vogue November 2005 edition "What Type of Lover Are You" Quiz, etc.
Unless of course she is who I think she is- my soulmate - who would be now, forever lost to me to Mr. Myers - a man who makes 50 times more money than I do and is a bazillion times funnier than I am.
but even then- I'd still like to know...
please.

If anybody cannot see enough that this is a fully decent human being then most of you haven't been around enough to see a blessed thing.
He makes many laugh and I guess that would be his end of the bargain and I guess ours is to get a life and not sit around masterbating looking for imperfections in movie stars.
I look forward to his up-and-coming movie about Keith Moon which by the way is long overdue.
All you poor young dears probably have no idea who I'm talking about.
If you're going to focus on the negative in celebrityhood status symbol assholes take a look a people like 50 cent or somebody who is presenting a fucking bullshit nasty way of life that young people digest each and every second.
50 I hope you do a full bit in a federal pen and then shake your money, cock, big turtle jaws and ego trip the fuck out of this life.

I met Mike Myer's mother-in-law. What a mess she is and I can see why Mike made fun of her on SNL. She spoke at Canyon Ranch and looks like her act is over now that her daughter was dumped by Mike. She has no one's back to ride on and I don't blame Mike for leaving that daughter of hers.
Posted by: Sheila at April 18, 2006 8:28 PM
Didn't Mike's wife dump HIM? She's no stunner, a big girl - horsey face, but I did hear she dumped Mike.
