Let's Quantify Our Self Worth With a Year End List!

The Apiary is putting together a definitive list of NYC's hottest, best, hardest working, and consistently brilliant comedic performers of 2005. Think back to the people and events here in the city that made you laugh the hardest this year and kindly give them a nice plug in the comments below. I think that quantifying who the best and worst of an art form is, is a bad idea.

I'm not a fan of trashing anybody--that should be pretty obvious by now. I've always steered the site clear of the kind of mean spirited commentary that's pervasive on other blogs. that's why it's a Best Of list. If you think people should be applauded for their work, then recommend them.

Best Comedian of 2005 = A.D. Miles.
Best Performer of 2005 = Zach Galifianakis.
Best Sketch Troupe of 2005 = Variety SHAC.
Best Improv People of 2005 = all those fun UCB kids, I guess. I can't remember which teams are which.
Best One Act of 2005 = I didn't see Darryl, but I sure enjoyed Chris Gethard's between-sets promotion of said show. Was it even one act? It was one guy, I know that much.
Best Weekly or Semi-Regular Variety Show of 2005 = I like this Invite Them Up CD. That's all I've got. Sucks to live in Atlanta.
Best TV of 2005 = Comedians of Comedy.
Best Underpublicized Comic Performer/Group/or Thing of 2005 = Tom Shillue.
