As a native of San Francisco's Mission district, home of the burrito, I would just like to say that Chipotle burritos are a fucking travesty. Also, Chipotle is owned by McDonalds (it's true, I read it in the New York Times).

Chipotle is the best! When the first one opened in NYC 2 or so years ago, I was so excited. I used to go to all the grand openings.

Burritoville, baby, Burritoville.

People always drop that McDonalds fact like I'm gonna thank them for showing me the error of my ways. So long as Chipoltle is delicious, filling, and I can sit in there for an afternoon refilling my soda at the fountain (soda fountain's a rare thing in NY) and reading my book, and the manager at St. Mark's keeps compin' my burritos, they have my heart, I don't care who their daddy is.

I'm from Phoenix, AZ, which I wouldn't classify as "the home of the burrito" but I would put a good six or seven spots in the queue ahead of Frisco, and while I wouldn't classify Chipoltle as "authentic" by any stretch of the imagination, it's a damn sight better than most anything Mexican you can get here (especially Burritoville...yech)

Chipotle is FRANCHISED by McDonalds. It's still owned by crunchy hippies in Boulder. It's the merging of both worlds...
