Last Weekend to See The Hollow Men
Caught the British sketch comedy troupe, The Hollow Men, yesterday in a theatre production by the SEMINAL WestBeth Entertainment group which, notably, is the production company behind Amy Sedaris et. al's Wigfield and the original staging of Hedwig & The Angry Inch. If you wanted to see The Hollow Men, this weekend is your last chance.
Notes from the performance:
--The crowd was an interesting mix of traditional theatre goers (read: the elderly), families, and beer guzzling British women. Not exactly the same plethora one would find at The PIT or UCB. Can this culture gap be bridged in our lifetimes??
--The Hollow Men's Dave Armand, who is undoubtedly a student of the dramatic arts, went from TOTALLY PALLID to TOTALLY SWEATY during his interpretive miming of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn." See the famous internet video of this here!
--SPOTTED: Dan and Doug from The Wicked Wicked Hammerkatz, casing out the competition. Speaking of Hammerkatz, one should point out that their AWARD WINNING ensemble show, ...And Other Reasons to Cry guarantees twice the excitement of The Hollow Men but for a scant portion of the price.
